Registering a Team
This lesson covers how to register a team for the BEST Robotics Season in the BEST National Registry. You must have a user account with the BEST National Registry in order to register a team. If you do not have an account, please watch BNR – Creating an Account to see how to create one.
Requesting to Participate in the Current Season
Follow the process outlined in the video to Register A School. Registering your school with a BEST Hub in the current season will notify the Hub that your team is requesting participation. The hub manages the approvals and wait lists if the hub capacity is reached. So, even if the hub has already reached capacity, you should continue to register and the hub will decide if you are added to a waiting list or denied. If you are denied, your team will need to find another hub to participate in for the current season.
Registering as a Teacher
Each school may register only one team in one hub for the season. Teachers are registered when the school/team is registered. The first user to register the team is designated as the Primary Teacher. However, as a teacher it is possible for you to register to participate with more than one team. For example, as a primary teacher for the high school and secondary teacher for the middle school. We prefer that teachers are not primary at multiple schools but this is also possible if warranted. If you are a secondary teacher, follow the same “Register a Team” process, search and locate the school, then select “I am registering as a secondary teacher”.
